Timothy T. Read – Of Counsel
Timothy (Tim) Read has many years of experience in business litigation and commercial transactions and reorganization. Beginning in 1981, he practiced law with a full-service general civil firm in downtown Houston, concentrating his practice on commercial litigation. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts. His cases covered a broad spectrum of disputes in diverse businesses such as the oil & gas industry, maritime shipping, hospital administration, newspaper publishing, commercial transactions, savings & loans, and thoroughbred horse breeding.
For seven years, Mr. Read was based in Los Angeles and worked exclusively in the fields of business reorganization and commercial bankruptcy. Earning his certification in Business Bankruptcy from the American Board of Bankruptcy Certification, he represented debtors, creditors, committees and trustees in the United States Bankruptcy Courts of California and Texas. He has spoken with authority on bankruptcy practice to general practice attorneys and been a contributing editor to the Journal of the American Bankruptcy Institute.
The length and breadth of Mr. Read’s experience is represented by his admissions to the highest courts of Georgia, Texas, Virginia and California, as well as to the United States Supreme Court and other federal trial and appellate courts.
